Harvard ex-president Summers Leaves from AI Company's Directors
Former US treasury secretary Larry Summers is departing from the directorate at the ChatGPT creator, just days after a series of digital correspondence between him and deceased financier the disgraced billionaire became public.
He remarked in a release that he was "thankful for the privilege to have served, enthusiastic about the promise of the company, and eagerly await following their development".
The former Harvard president, who formerly presided over the Ivy League institution, announced on recently that he would be withdrawing from public roles due to his association with Epstein.

The freshly disclosed emails demonstrated that the economist corresponded with Epstein until the eve of his 2019 detention for alleged sex trafficking of underage individuals.
In another announcement, the AI firm stated it understood his decision to depart.
"We acknowledge his many contributions and the viewpoint he provided to the directors," the company stated.
Congressional Action
This development follows after the two houses of the US legislature agreed on recently to pass a bill that would mandate the federal prosecutors to release its documents on the case.
The measure will afterward proceed to the office of the White House for approval. The President has stated he expects to sign the bill, after modifying his stance on the matter following objections from his followers.

A batch of financier-linked emails released by the House Oversight Committee recently mentioned numerous prominent individuals in the financier's past associates, without suggesting any illegal behavior by those people.
The communications indicated that Summers and the financier often met for meals, with Epstein often attempting to introduce the official to influential global figures.

After the correspondence were made available with the general audience, Summers said he assumed "total ownership for my misguided decision to maintain corresponding with the financier".
He added that he wanted "to restore faith and mend relationships with the individuals closest to me".

The professor served in high-level positions under party leaders; serving as economic leader under Bill Clinton, and as leader of the economic advisory body under President Obama.
He led the university from 2001 to 2006 and continues to be a academic there. When declaring his departure from public commitments previously on Monday, he stated he would persist with his teaching commitments.

Following Summers' announcement on earlier this week, the policy organization, a left-leaning policy institute in Washington where he was a researcher, announced that the economist was not affiliated with the group.
