Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features live text for Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, audio coverage is available on select stations for another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the NFL season and after last week's talk regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, each lost their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games were the number of infractions both committed. The Eagles did so in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus Denver, set to play in London this Sunday.

But it proved good to see that Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome that deficit before lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game 21-17.

Denver boast the top defender in CB Pat Surtain II. They are first in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't always sending extra defenders instead they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

At the start of the season, it was noted on a program that the Broncos could be the current year's dark horses. They ended last season strongly then did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

New TE Evan Engram has stepped up big and recent running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that the coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver are a team that wants to run first, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush while maintains in favourable situations.

This has benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who came into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to pass all over, however they don't move in the same way as Nix. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he's highly agile.

His strengths are his mobility, being able to pass while moving, as well as finding different arm angles to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to deliver that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays a lot of poise under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes time and forces the opponent to be in play for longer, and if you've got a mobile QB the defence has to defend the area vertically side to side. This proves exhausting.

Nix has bitten back with the coach during games at times and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to coach a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. He can truly build something up the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach owns a championship and now surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success the Broncos are having on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB helps make him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to help you during difficult moments and boost confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they strong enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a solid position to be in their division. The key is to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their strength, that is the ground game, and that's exactly what they should do against the New York Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking takeaways decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising when you think that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a manageable slate until their break (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

This hinges upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
