Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's 10-game victorious run was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but will the English top division leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.
For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football team," he said.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.
A family member advised me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.
They have have lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.
However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
